POWER RANKINGS
The Power Rankings are based on merit rather than ability or perceived ability. A team could have some of the best players in the league, but can still be ranked low because they haven't earned it yet. It doesn't matter what the team or the players of that team have done in other leagues or in that Saturday morning pickup game - In the end, it's the team's performance in Carson Football league games that's crucial to a higher ranking.
NOTE: Established teams (teams from previous seasons) will generally rank higher in the early Power Rankings (approx. Week 1 to Week 4) as they've earned their reputation through past seasons. These teams are also less likely to drop as much from a loss or two.
| OC Cougar Hunter (1-0-0) Picking up where they left off last season, The Cougars played like champs in their season opener, as they dismantled the new team (Hollywood) 22-8. They capped off an excellent week with two of their players leading their respective offensive categories (QB Pat Conley Passing 165 Yards and 2 Touchdown Passes / WR for Receiving Yards and Receiving Touchdowns). | ||
| 1st Choice (0-0-0) | ||
| Long Beach All-Stars (0-1-0) The Long Beach looked very disorganized in their season opener as they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Bad Company. However, in their defense, after losing so many key players in the off season . With a few more games of experience with their new players, they should return to the high energy, fun-filled football we all expect from them. | ||
| Slaughter House (2-0-0) The House crew (The House coming in with new coach and style of play in Johnithan aka Hollywood) return to Carson League Football with a bang. With their annihilation of the Free Agents (24-0) and a (13-2) victory over the Saints in their season opener, Slaughter House have already garnered the praise of many teams in the league. QB Wayne went over 300 yards in 2 games with 3 Touch Down. | ||
| LA Saints (0-1-0) The Saints looked very disorganized in their season opener as they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Slaughter House. However, in their defense, it was against the good up and coming team and secondly, the Saints have always been known for slow starts to the season. With a few more games of experience with their new players, they should return to the high energy, fun-filled football we all expect from them. | ||
| Bad Company (1-1-0) Scoring the biggest upset in Carson League Football history last week, the Bad Company impressed the many spectators in the stands with a victory over the much heralded Long Beach All-Stars. All-League Safty PJ continues to produce on the field, but what was most surprising was the poise shown by QB James. With performances like last week, the Bad Company will continue to climb the rankings. | ||
| Descarados (0-0-0) | ||
| Hollywood (0-1-0) An impressive debut that just didn't equate to a win. The team showed a combination of athleticism and toughness never before seen in this league. QB Domigue Willis continues to be a jack-of-all-trades, while rookie DE Miguel Mercado impressed on the D-Line, picking up 2 sacks in his debut. Despite the loss, the Hollywood will be undoubtedly be a contender this season. | ||
| Free Agents (0-1-0) They showed some potential in their game against the Slaughter House, however some hasty decisions in crucial moments in the game may have costed them in the end. The Free Agents displayed a physical style that very few teams in the league can match. However, they will need to add some finesse to their game to keep up with some of the faster teams in the league. | ||
| Crusaders (1-0-0) The Crusaders first game in Carson League Football showed a lot of promise. Standing toe-to-toe with the veteran Bad Company squad, they stayed in the game up to the very end. With the softer part of their schedule coming up in the next few weeks, the Saders should hold up fine in the first half of the season. |
